Tesla deserves better.

Our statement

We as Tesla vehicle owners, shareholders and/or prospective buyers do not accept nor condone the actions and language frequently enacted by current CEO, Elon Musk.

We believe his ongoing tenure as CEO is a threat to Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy, and to the ongoing health and survival of the company more broadly.

Examples of the actions and language we refer to include but are not limited to:

• Undermining climate science by downplaying the urgency of the climate crisis.
• Undermining democracy in the USA by spreading election misinformation on his platform ‘X’, influencing its outcome.
• Undermining the credibility of US regulation and office by perpetuating misinformation and using a senior role in Government to benefit his own organisations.
• Undermining democracy around the world, for example, putting mass pressure on the UK Government via ‘X’ to act on issues of his choosing.
• Support for far-right parties around the world and their ideologies such as the AfD in Germany. The AfD supports climate scepticism and attacks on marginalized communities.
• Undermining criminal justice systems around the world, for example, his support for alleged sex trafficker and rapist Andrew Tate, and convicted criminal Tommy Robinson.
• Excessive posting on the platform 'X', where, for example, he posted 1800 times in the first week of February 2025.

We invested (or have been interested in investing) in the products and/or shares of Tesla because we shared the vision for a decarbonised future, and believed the products and services provided by Tesla could contribute towards that vision.

Now, we believe that Musk's actions undermine the company’s vision and are damaging the viability of the company, with stocks falling every week he has been in Government office. His actions are unacceptable, and the love we once had for the brand and products has been tainted, for many of us beyond repair.

Many of us already have, or will be selling our vehicles and/or shares, or have opted against investing when we otherwise would have. The rest of us are strongly considering doing so or waiting for a viable opportunity to.

Our belief in the original vision and product range remains. We want Tesla to be a brand of a sustainable future, representing progress and inclusivity as we feel it once did.

We therefore call on the board to urgently act. We have no confidence in Elon Musk as CEO of Tesla and believe a replacement who shares Tesla’s founding vision should be found immediately.
